Peter Capaldi has confirmed that the new Doctor Who companion has been cast.
There will be a new companion, along any minute. Or at least it was the most important matter to be settled until Capaldi inadvertently revealed that a replacement had been hired.
Peter Capaldi has started filming with the new companion, who he describes as "different" from previous companions that have joined the Doctor on his adventures. Capaldi spoke with Brazilian website Omelete (via NME) and said that Jenna Coleman's successor has been cast and that he's "very excited" about them. Clara was with the Doctor from his very first incarnation, guiding him on which TARDIS to steal, and with his subsequent incarnations, basically helping him with decisions even if he didn't know or want it. And as she was already with [Eleventh Doctor] Matt [Smith], she knew the Daleks and the TARDIS.
One of the front runners for the next companion was Maisie Williams from the HBO series Game of Thrones.
The 10th series of Doctor Who since it was revived in 2005 will be broadcast in 2017.
A new companion has begun his or her journey with the Doctor in the upcoming season of "Doctor Who", which has begun filming. We know that this is something many people out there have been wanting to get some sort of answer to for quite some time, and we are now pleased to say that we may be getting closer to an answer than ever before.
"No, I'm not going to return, I have a lot of other really exciting projects lined up", said the star. This was Capaldi's first season as the beloved Doctor. He was responsible for introducing the 11th and 12th Doctors played by Smith and Capaldi. We will have to wait and see whether or not the next companion can live up to the standards that all of the companions before have set.
