It's Selection Sunday and many teams are anxiously awaiting to see if they will make the NCAA Tournament. The conference tournament games have had major implications for just how the selection committee will put together the NCAA Tournament bracket, and the three programs below should make the tournament despite being considered bubble watch teams.
Judging by the way the conference championship series have gone, the two top teams that are surefire locks for one of the four number one NCAA Tournament seeds are Kansas and North Carolina. There is only one way to guarantee your spot in the NCAA Tournament and that is by winning your conference tournament. Michigan State has a claim to a top seed, but has to get past Purdue in the Big Ten championship game to wrap it up. I'd argue that Oregon's recent dominance gives them a shot at the West and Oklahoma cannot be dismissed in the South. The final teams are trying to punch their tickets and every school is trying to better their standing in the eyes of the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee.
It doesn't hold as much weight as the NCAA Tournament that everyone is fixated on, there's no denying that the NIT continuously brings us some fantastic college basketball action.
This all leads to the eventual final four when the 2016 NCAA basketball tournament reaches a climax in Houston next month.
