If you like your superhero shows with a side of the eccentric, then FX's upcoming Marvel series Legion might be of interest to you. The series joins a healthy fleet of Marvel projects on television and streaming platforms, as Netflix is home to the likes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage, while ABC is responsible for Agents of SHIELD and Freeform will premiere Cloak & Dagger sometime next year.
New details about the show came to light earlier in the month.
The cast consists of Dan Stevens (The Guest) as David Haller, Rachel Keller (Fargo) as Syd, Jean Smart (Fargo) as Melanie and many others.
FX is known for going dark and gritty with things, and anyone who's seen Fargo knows Noah Hawley knows how to unfold a story. I don't know about you but I'm stoked to see this. Though you probably shouldn't get your hopes up that we'll be seeing Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in this series anytime soon. "H$3 e wrote and created and directed the pilot to Legion - and it is a very different sensibility than anything we've done with the X-Men movies". Besides, there's more to the X-Men movies than what's been featured in the films, which leaves this show plenty to work with. And it looks absolutely unlike any X-Men film ever. "It stands as part of the X-Men universe, but it stands apart from it as well".
