Super Star Rajinikanth's latest film "Kabali" released on 22nd July amidst huge celebrations, not only in the city, but all over the country.
"It's the fastest south Indian film to rake in over Rs 200 crore at the box-office worldwide in just five days". Some reports suggest that the film collected over Rs 48 crore on the opening day, beating Sallu Bhai's Sultan (2016), which collected roughly Rs 36 crore.
As predicted, Rajinikanth-starrer Kabali has witnessed a dip in its box office collections since Monday. The film, which released on July 6, has so far earned Rs 405 crore in the domestic market and Rs 151 crore in the global market. Kabali 6th day domestic box office collection has settled down to Rs. 15 crores. On Friday, the film made Rs 21.5 crore in Tamil Nadu alone. "We only did the censorship after discussing with the movie's producer and getting his approval", Mr Abdul Halim added, referring to Tamil film producer Kalaipuli S Thanu. "The advantage of regional movies is that they can be dubbed into different languages, whereas Bollywood movies release only in Hindi first", says trade analyst Omar Qureshi.
