The hits just keep on coming for the Miami Dolphins as the 2016 season continues to spiral out of control.
Dolphins lineman Laremy Tunsil slipped in the shower at the team's hotel Sunday morning and was a late scratch before the Dolphins' game against the Titans. In Tunsil's and left tackle Brandon Albert's absence, the Dolphins surrendered six sacks of quarterback Ryan Tannehill in the 30-17 home defeat.
"I'm sure it's a cross between embarrassment and, 'Really, I'm missing a game because of this?'" Gase said.
Gase said he became aware of Tunsil's accident when he overheard offensive line coach Chris Foerster's half of a phone call.
Gase added that Tunsil, who started the first four games of the season, hurt his ankle. Right before April's NFL Draft, a video surfaced showing him smoking out of a gas mask.
Tunsil, the 13th overall pick this year, was injured during pregame warmups, according to the Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel. "It's like one of those one-in-a-thousand or one-in-a-million type deals".
