Cubs open up as favorites to win 2017 World Series

Fans of American League baseball team Cleveland Indians react outside Progressive Field while watching Game 7 of their Major League Baseball World Series game against National League's Chicago Cubs in Cleveland, Ohio. The Indians now have the second-longest dry spell, last winning in 1948. All of a sudden, our offense is having a resurgence, which we need. The average price paid for a Game 7 ticket in Cleveland has hit $2,700, according to resale service TicketIQ.

Francona said the Cubs were a lot like his team.

The Cubs had already won twice while facing elimination.

The Indians have been hexed, too, with the not-so-well-known curse of Rocky Colavito.

The Indians got another run on a solo home run by Kipnis in the fifth inning. The team was awful, spawning the 1989 movie "Major League". However, things keep moving back and forth in this series, and it's anyone's guess who will take this Game 7.

Just a few years into my die-hard fandom for the Loveable Losers, I lost Grandma.

Bottom of the third inning, and the Indians tie it up when Carlos Santana singles into right.
