Dak Prescott 'increasingly likely' to keep starting job over Tony Romo

Prescott's TD pass to Witten tied Troy Aikman's rookie franchise record of nine scoring passes after Wentz broke Donovan McNabb's rookie mark of eight from 1999 with his ninth of the season, a 5-yarder to Jordan Matthews that put Philadelphia up 20-10 in the third quarter.

Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks Jameill Showers (7), Dak Prescott (4) and Tony Romo (9) walk out of the tunnel for warm-ups before a preseason game against the Rams on August 13, 2016, in Los Angeles.

Does he believe in the "hot hand" theory? "We're excited about that, but at this particular time I don't have any more [to] clarify".

Later in the game, Terrance Williams made one of the smartest plays of his career, commiting offensive pass interference to keep the ball away from an Eagles defender in the end zone. "Let's just work through this thing together and we'll be fine'".

I can't see the club bringing Romo back against the Steelers in Pittsburgh, November 13, which is the game after the Browns. "I got time to win football games only". The Cowboys play the Pittsburgh Steelers on November 13. He was doing conditioning work on resistance cords with one of the athletic trainers after practice.

"That's what he's demonstrated since Day 1", Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said of Prescott in his postgame press conference. The offense can move the chains, but the team is largely devoid of playmakers on both sides of the ball, which hampers it in close games against good teams. "Tony is trying to do that as well".

When Romo is healthy, Jones sees no reason to name a starter.

"You want to be very mindful of what you got going, which right now we got a lot of chemistry going", Jones said on 105.3 The Fan Tuesday, as transcribed by the Dallas Morning News. "That has got to really be recognized if you're making a decision". That sounds like a cliché - right up until the moment Romo takes a crushing sack or throws a deciding interception, and then suddenly it seems like a perfectly reasonable concern.

"I think sometimes we show flashes", Wentz said after the game. "We'll look at it that way".

Romo briefly appeared in the locker room Wednesday, but didn't talk to reporters. As of Monday, he said, nothing had changed. "It makes us all around a better and stronger team".

But in overtime, Prescott completed all five passes for 56 yards and converted a fourth-and-1 with a quarterback sneak.

On the tying drive in regulation, Prescott had a 12-yard scramble that was yet another example of a play the 36-year-old Romo likely can't make anymore.

"I don't want to speculate on when the time comes". He was quick to call it Romo's team, another thing he has said all along.

SPECIAL TEAMS: B - Dan Bailey has been automatic as usual despite playing two games with a back injury.

Prescott said footwork was his biggest problem against the Eagles, caused in part by heavy pressure from an aggressive defense.

Dak Prescott said, "No, it never goes through my head of oh, I've got to do this or that, or this is going to happen". The Cowboys are putting this decision off as long as they can.
