The Cleveland Indians Still Have All the Momentum

There is nothing more American than baseball in October and there may be no better place to hold a World Series game than at The Friendly Confines of Chicago's Wrigley Field.

"This guy is used to getting three outs and he goes 2-2/3".

So a World Series between the teams with baseball's longest title droughts goes back to Cleveland, with 2015 NL Cy Young Award victor Jake Arrieta set to start for the Cubs and Josh Tomlin going on short rest for the Indians in Game 6 on Tuesday night. "We're up 3-2 going home". The city is primed to party, too, after Cleveland fans missed out on hosting this year's biggest sports events so far. "After that game last night, believe me, man, I was in no mood to get up and travel today". He won a World Series with me (in Boston).

"It helps keeping the body warm, and I like being out there in the field", he said.

His team rolled through the regular season with a major league-leading 103 wins, took out playoff-tested San Francisco in the NL Division Series and rallied to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL Championship Series.

"I don't ever try to manage the other team", Francona said.

"I was really proud of him", Francona said of Santana, who had only played four innings in left in his career before Game 5.

"Nervous again. I just want it over".

Rookie catcher Willson Contreras is set to start in Game 6, with Jake Arrieta on the mound for the Chicago Cubs.

Trevor Bauer, pitching on short rest for the first time in his career, breezed through the Cubs' lineup the first time Sunday, but Bryant, the favorite to win the National League MVP, exited his slump in a big way.

"Let the Cubs have a win", said Arthur Lavin, a lifelong Indians fan after the game. Those three runs would be all that the Cubs would muster up, but it would be enough to force a Game 6 thanks to a strong start from Jon Lester and an eight-out save from Aroldis Chapman.

So once you bake in the quality of the opposition, the Indians' current roster state, and their playing at home, the Indians' chances move from that historical baseline of 78.7 percent to the 73.0 percent you see above.

The team is in a ideal position, now back at home for two potential games. If Chicago can win game six, one that starts at 8pm ET on Tuesday, then game seven is the following night with the same start time. So with this World Series on the verge of slipping away, the Chicago Cubs could not wait any longer. In June, the Cavaliers defeated Golden State in Game 7 of the NBA Finals to end the city's championship drought after 52 years. Cleveland Indians' Mike Napoli, center, and Coco Crisp, left rear, participate in an optional team workout at Progressive Field, Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 in preparation for baseball's upcoming World Series Game 6 against the Chi.

"That game [Sunday] night was as mentally draining as it gets", Maddon said, referring to the Cubs' 3-2 victory in Game 5.
