Room's Jacob Tremblay will star in Shane Black's The Predator

The news today that he has secured the services of Room's Jacob Tremblay for a lead role makes a lot of sense given Black's previous films, in which a young actor often made a real difference to the tone, and success, of the movies.

Shane Black's upcoming "Predator" film seems to be growing by the day as the project gets ready to start production this February.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that the 10-year-old actor is joining the fight against The Predator, alongside Boyd Holbrook, who is playing the main hero in the movie.

According to News headlines, no specific details for The Predator have been revealed just yet, though Shane Black has claimed that contrary to earlier rumors, the movie will not be set in a suburban neighborhood.

Jacob's character is autistic and a victim of school yard bullying but what many see as his weaknesses, as well as a gift for languages, become critical to fighting the extraterrestrials. With the movie beginning production in February, the cast has begun to fill out quickly, with recent additions including Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes, and Sterling K Brown. THR is also reporting that Holbrook will play "an ex-Marine who discovers the existence of fierce aliens but finds that no one believes they exist". 2010's Predators was probably the best Predator movie since the original, but was still middle-of-the-road affair, but it was enjoyable to some degree.
