While I may not see that friend as often as I'd like anymore - and definitely not that ex at this point - those nights hold some of my most cherished wrestling-watching memories. It's obviously in her blood, and she has accomplished so much in such a short time. (Funny how he did this for AJ Styles past year.) It just shows the brilliance of putting the six-time world champion in any situation.
When the Royal Rumble gets underway on Sunday, it will be a wide-open field with some of WWE's top wrestlers competing in the Alamodome for a chance to earn a world title match at WrestleMania.
While there could be some patriotic pride involved with those odds, Balor's popularity has not dimmed since his untimely absence from WWE, and a victory would not be surprising to many insiders.
There is a possibility that the Mania match could be for a title with Goldberg scheduled to appear at the next Raw pay-per-view, Fastlane. Although, seeing Mickie James and Becky square off would make up for that. Or nEVILle, as his name should be written during his current heel turn.
Get ready, Roman Reigns.
I don't think anybody expects Bayley to win at the Rumble. He's talked title, and there is no clear WrestleMania opponent for him right now.
Next up for the champ is a date with Bayley, her former friend and partner in the Four Horsewomen, whom she'll face for her title at the Rumble. He obviously has the size, which Vince McMahon has always loved, and he's received a huge push in the last couple of months. The obvious finish is Jericho drops an item intended for Owens but Reigns intercepts it and knocks out Owens to win.
There's not enough attention being placed on Cena potentially tying Ric Flair's record of 16 world titles. From having that match with (Nattie Neidhart) at NXT (it was Charlotte's first televised match on NXT), if it had been anybody else, I don't think I would have ever developed, gotten the confidence, the fire in me that I didn't know I had. I'm also confident that Cena will win at Elimination Chamber.
"...there was an old friend of mine, who actually didn't sign with WWE, in hopes that we could do something special this year". It was just one of those incredible moments because everyone knows his journey and to be there to share that with him was a great feeling as a fan and a friend.
The first Royal Rumble was in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1988. As recapped by the official website of WWE, Mojo Rawley ended up outlasting nine other superstars to win the match and earn his spot in the big match.
-Rich Swann vs. Neville for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. If, and when, Cena wins the belt, Corbin would greatly benefit from a match with someone on the level of Cena. Some of the shockers since those early days have been more Honky Tonk than Backlund, such as Boogeyman in 2015, the Godfather in both 2002 and 2013, or maybe the worst waste of Rumble slots in 2012, when Michael Cole, Booker T and Jerry Lawler took up a tenth of the match.
With no clear victor in sight, I suggest you just kick back, believe in the hype, and count to 10.
