Bob Harper of NBC's The Biggest Loser recovering from serious heart attack

Bob Harper has been on the mend after suffering a major heart attack earlier this month that left him unconscious for days.

Harper was at a gym two weeks ago when he collapsed and was taken to the hospital.

NBC News confirmed Harper's heart attack, saying, "Bob Harper confirms to NBC News that he had a heart attack two weeks ago yesterday". A doctor happened to be working out at that time in the gym, as well, and administered CPR and used paddles to keep Bob alive. Apparently, his doctor insisted that he was not ready to fly, preventing him from returning to his home in Los Angeles.

The Biggest Loser host said he is improving but limited to non-strenuous exercise like walking for the moment.

If you are wondering how Harper suffered from the heart attack, since he is a fitness trainer, he says it was all due to his genetics as his mother died from a heart attack.

He began as one of the show's main trainers, competing against fellow fan-favorite Jillian Michaels to help members of his team lose the most weight.

The 51-year-old reality TV star is now host of the show after being a trainer at the camp from 2005 to 2015.
