Last night Katy Perry trashed Britney Spears without thinking first.

Others chose to defend Katy, with one commenting: "Twitter uses memes of Britney shaving her head as a amusing joke, but when Katy does it she gets hate". Her response was simple: "That's called taking care of my mental health". Ryan Seacrest asked her how she was doing, and she replied: 'Fantastic...

And then, the kicker: "I haven't shaved my head yet!"

Spears has since opened up about her struggles with anxiety, describing one experience where she lost six pounds in one day because she had been so anxious about a date, the Independent reports.

Granted, she didn't explicitly mention Britney.

ET spoke with the blonde-locked "Chained to the Rhythm" singer ahead of her 2017 GRAMMY Awards performance, where her flashy wardrobe seemed so fitting given the global disco ball guerilla rollout of her new single.

"There's so much divisiveness and people on one side or the other, and we just need to listen to each other", Perry said. It's a groove-heavy song with blatant nods to downtown 1980s NY - the title echoes Grace Jones' 1985 classic "Slave to the Rhythm" - and the disco era from a few years before. In 2011, "I Kissed a Girl" was nominated for best female pop vocal performance, as was "Hot n Cold" the following year. "She never shades anyone", wrote another. I just feel a little bit more conscious than I've ever have and kind of worked out some of my s**t. "I'm always moments away from that, obviously".

Last night, Britney was with Clive Davis and having a good time.

"Katy Perry learned this the hard way on Sunday, when she seemingly poked fun at Spears" infamous head-shaving incident in 2007. A reflection that alludes to Britney Spears.

She later appeared to repeat her comment on CBS, talking about her latest hair change and how she hadn't yet shaved her head due to a meltdown.

Which didn't go down too well with Britney's loyal followers - and there are A LOT of them.
