It's a Netflix reunion of sorts: "Kyle Chandler, star of "Bloodline", is set to join "Stranger Things" break-out Millie Bobby Brown in Godzilla: "King of the Monsters", sources tell Variety. They state that Chandler will play a scientist and father of Brown's character, which is said to be the hero of the movie. So don't expect to see Elizabeth Olsen, Brian Cranston, or Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the new film.
Both Edwards' and Dougherty's American entries of the Godzilla series are part of Warner Brothers' hopeful giant monster cinematic universe. He now stars on Netflix's Bloodline, for which he has received two Emmy nominations for his role as John Rayburn. Although production is set to kick off soon, it will still be some time before it hits theaters as the sequel has a scheduled premiere date of March 22, 2019.
Legendary and Warner Bros. announced in late 2015 that all future "King Kong" and "Godzilla" films would be developed by Legendary and distributed by Warner Bros., starting with "Kong: Skull Island" in March. The plot is unknown now, but Krampus director Michael Dougherty is set to helm the project, which means we'll probably see a little more humor in this one than in its gorgeous but grim predecessor.
Kyle Chandler - star of the flawless Friday Night Lights, and Netflix's Bloodline - is one of the finest actors of his generation.
