March 16 (ANI): After the shocking anti-Trump tweet of fast food chain McDonald's calling the U.S. President "disgusting", a justification was issued by the same saying their account was "compromised".
"You are actually a disgusting excuse for a president and we would love to have @BarackObama back", the message read.
A tweet from McDonald's corporate account attacked President Trump Thursday; it was deleted within 30 minutes.
The restaurant chain said Twitter had notified it that their account had been "compromised".
It was re-tweeted almost 200 times and pinned to McDonald's profile before someone realised the account had been compromised.
Hary did not respond to a question about whether the company had any idea about who may have been responsible.
Mr Trump, who appeared in a McDonald's commercial in 2002 alongside Grimace in Trump Tower, is yet to make a statement.
Trump, famously, is a fast food aficionado and a McDonald's super fan.
"And another demanded an apology from the chain, writing: "@McDonalds you owe the president an apology and whoever wrote that tweet must be fired immediately or you will pay financially". The reply was both tweeted and deleted Thursday morning.
The account later tweeted that Twitter alerted McDonald's the account was compromised.
Intentional or not, McDonald's may have unintentionally tapped into anti-Trump resistance with its pinned tweet. One bad hamburger and you take Wendy's and all these other places and they're out of business. "I'm a very clean person. It's a certain standard". Before Puzder withdrew, Easterbrook said that Puzder's experience as a fast-food executive provided him with a good understanding of entry-level jobs and over regulation affecting small businesses.
