South by Southwest Music Festival announced the Outdoor Stage lineup headlined by Garth Brooks for a free concert scheduled this Saturday.
Brooks, who has an advertising degree from Oklahoma State University and went back at got an MBA from the school in 2011, was introduced as "the #1 selling solo artist in USA history".
Gates will open at 11 am with music all day long.
Austin360 reports that Brooks took the stage at the Broken Spoke at 11PM and began his set with "Friends in Low Places;" readers can see a snippet of that performance above. The free tickets will be offered beginning at noon CDT on Friday to Austin residents and surrounding areas based on credit card billing addresses. On a subsequent webcast, Brooks vowed to return to Ireland saying "Dublin, Ireland. how can I say it any more than that?" "I know something's going to go on tonight that's not planned, that's all I know".

In a small conference room full of national and local media at the Austin Convention Center, the top-selling solo artist of the 20th century was waiting in the wings while his new single "Ask Me How I Know" played on KASE 101. The single was released Friday (March 17th) with an impact date of March 27th.
"We do not leave a song behind, we just don't", Brooks tells reporters. "It's pretty cool, all of these different shifts".
