A Cleveland man named Steve Stephens used the social media platform Sunday to post graphic video of himself committing a murder, along with a Facebook Live stream where he described killing over a dozen people.
Other claims of crimes: In another video, Stephens claimed to have killed more than a dozen other people, but police said they have not found evidence of any other victims.
Local police are being aided by state and federal authorities, cleveland.com said.
At a press conference Monday morning, reporters asked Cleveland police about a report that Stephens had been tracked to Erie, Pennsylvania, but Chief Calvin Williams wouldn't confirm that information. "I just killed 13 motherf*ckers man".
"If Steve has an issue, then he needs to talk to some folks to get that resolved", Williams said.
"I haven't watched the video".
A 78-year-old man may have been the victim, according to a man and woman who spoke to Cleveland 19 News. "We don't know why", Williams said.
Stephens claimed on Facebook that he committed multiple homicides, but police said they have no knowledge of other victims.
Police crews continue to search multiple areas in the city, but residents of Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana and MI are urged to be on alert, as Stephens may have fled the state. The video was later uploaded to Stephens' Facebook page, which has since been deactivated.
"We had been in a relationship for several years".
Thirty-seven-year-old Steve Stephens is wanted on a charge of aggravated murder in the death of Robert Godwin Sr. on Sunday afternoon in Cleveland.
In one of the videos, Stephens could be seen holding up his employee identification and said: "I'm killing with my Beech Brook badge on, too". The fraternity issued a statement Sunday night offering "our honest and heartfelt prayers and condolences of comfort to the families" affected by the shooting.
"On behalf of the Supreme Council and the members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, we lift our honest and heartfelt prayers and condolences of comfort to the families impacted by the recent shooting in Cleveland, Ohio", it said. "He is about 6'1", 244 pounds with a full beard, a bald head, and was driving a white or cream colored Ford Fusion.
Williams said Stephens may be driving a newer model white Ford Fusion with temporary OH license plate E363630. The FBI is assisting Cleveland police, as well as county and state officers.
Stephens says on that video he will keep killing people until he is caught.
