Besides, the Ballia Expressway will no longer be known as the Samajwadi Expressway but Purvanchal Expressway.

Earlier on Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the state education officials to ensure that a Yoga Education Programme is compulsory in all government schools.

Some of the schemes might also be scrapped altogether, officials said.The decision, which would impact around six ongoing development schemes launched by the previous SP government, was expected after protests from the BJP.

"Yes, the word "Samajwadi" will be dropped from the name of the Poorvanchal Expressway project", said a senior officer emerging from the meeting.

Ambulances given to the state under the National Rural Health Mission were named as Samajwadi ambulances, while pension given to the BPL women was named as the Samajwadi Pension scheme. The scheme is prepared keeping in mind the needs of the poor section of the society, will start soon. The erstwhile Congress-led UPA government at the Centre and the Samajwadi Party government in the state had indulged in a war of letters over the use of "Samajwadi" in the ambulance scheme.

Adityanath also said that he will not hesitate in ordering a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter, in which even the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has pointed out heavy irregularities.

"The Samajwadi word will be dropped from Uttar Pradesh government schemes".

Last week, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered not to distribute over 60 lakh ration cards printed by the Akhilesh Yadav government as they carried photograph of the former Chief Minister.

The BSP was in power from 2007 to 2012.
