Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that the Vikings signed free agent Michael Floyd. He was born in St. Paul and attended high school at St. Paul's Cretin-Derham Hall High School. "Can't wait to get to work #SkolVikes".

Floyd, who played at Notre Dame, was with the Arizona Cardinals from 2012 until his release following the December arrest. The incident was captured on police bodycam video.

At 27-years-old, Floyd will add a veteran presence to a group of Minnesota receivers that features a few young up-and-comers in Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen (maybe even Laquon Treadwell too). Tests showed his blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, at 0.217.

Floyd became an unrestricted in March and likely will face a league suspension of at least two games as a result of his guilty plea.

Floyd's deal with the Vikings is for one year and $1.5 million, according to the Associated Press.

"Although I can not change my past decisions", he added, "I have definitely learned from this experience and look forward to making valuable contributions to the Vikings organization and the Minnesota community, both as a player and a person". "We have offered Michael the full support and assistance of the Minnesota Vikings organization ..."

The best years of Floyd's career came from 2013-2015.

"Coach [Mike] Zimmer and I are confident Michael Floyd has learned and grown from his past decisions".

Carter lauded the move by the Vikings to pick up the 6-foot-3, 220-pound Floyd. Although I can not change my past decisions, I have definitely learned from this experience and look forward to making valuable contributions to the Vikings organization and the Minnesota community, both as a player and a person.
