Starbucks Embraces a Darker Side With New Drink

Secret Starbucks Drinks 2017: What Is In a Narwhal Frappuccino?

Starbucks' new drink: 'As good as Unicorn or better'

"People are gravitating toward vibrant colors", said Ryan Coombes, Starbucks' beverage development manager, no doubt referring to the popularity of the Unicorn Frappuccino. Invented by the Modern Barista, while technically not a frappuccino - and more than technically not on the Starbucks official menu - with a little magic, some explaining to a barista, and perhaps some help from your beloved neighborhood overly-tall elf, you can make these oceanic dreams a reality.

According to Instagram user TheModernBarista, Jócelyn Freeman, her store sold out of the unicorn frappuccino on the first day of its launch. Since then, a number of equally creative beverages have made their way to the world including the Mermaid Frappuccino and Dragon Frappuccino, to name a few.

Starbucks took to Twitter Tuesday and unveiled a new drink - the Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino.

"Just stay tuned because we have a lot more coming", added Howard Schultz, the company's former chief executive. The drink is topped with whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder.

The Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino is available now, and the Happy/Frappy Hour promotion starts May 5 and goes through May 14. "And we've extended our hours this year on some other tactical things to really make sure that Happy Hour is set up for success", Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson shared.

Starbucks is also bringing back its S'mores Frappuccino.

It includes scoops of extra dark cocoa which is blended with coffee, milk and ice and infused with mint sugar crystals.

If you are wondering, a grande size Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino has 470 calories, 350mg of sodium, 52g of sugar and 80mg of caffeine.
