Sturridge return gives Liverpool more options, says Klopp

Liverpool's manager Jurgen Klopp celebrates after their English Premier League football match against West Ham United

West Ham United: Hammers no match for in-form Liverpool

SLAVEN BILIC couldn't hide his disappointment after his West Ham United side crashed to a 4-0 Premier League defeat at the hands of a rampant Liverpool side at the London Stadium.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has insisted that he has "a good relationship" with manager Jurgen Klopp despite his lack of playing time this season.

My mother didn't appreciate it when I told her I would be watching the game at my girlfriend's house on Mother's Day, but then, she doesn't appreciate the importance of Liverpool finishing in the top four this season.

Liverpool's hopes of a place in Europe's elite club competition would have suffered a setback if they had lost or drawn with the home side as Arsenal in fifth place are just a point behind with 69 points.

"Part of our life is to handle pressure, to ignore the bad part of pressure and to use the good part of pressure", Klopp said.

"We scored some really nice goals but in the first half West Ham had big, big chances - especially to equalise before half-time. We know the situation and no one will underestimate the next game". We wanted to put in the same performance as we did against Spurs, or similar.

Liverpool: Simon Mignolet 7, Nathaniel Clyne 6, Dejan Lovren 6, Joel Matip 7, James Milner 7, Emre Can 6, Georginio Wijnaldum 8, Adam Lallana 7, Philippe Coutinho 9, Divock Origi 7, Daniel Sturridge 7.

"We could have scored more often but that's completely okay that we didn't". In fact, Sunday's opponents West Ham are one club said to be considering a bid for the forward. "Obviously he did really well in this position".

Sturridge made his first league start since January after an injury-ridden season where he had multiple spells on the sidelines. "His paced troubles teams and I thought his timing was brilliant".

A five-match unbeaten run had lifted West Ham to 12th in the table, but it was unable to replicate the intensity it showed when beating Tottenham in its previous game.

"That is why I'd like to give credit to the players, because it was very hard".
