An external investigation into Michigan State's football program has found that coach Mark Dantonio did not violate school policy in connection with the multiple sexual assault allegations made against members of his program this offseason.
Michigan State also conducted a Title IX investigation of the sexual assault allegations while the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office conducted its criminal investigation.
Siemon said she has authorized sexual assault charges against three MSU football players, who have not been publicly named. The charges allege that on the night of January 16th the three sexually assaulted a woman in an East Lansing apartment on campus.
Siemon and her office did release a statement regarding that staffer and how no charges will be filed against them.
The statement released by the prosecutor's office refused to name the three players, keeping that behind the scenes - for now.
"The investigation found that "senior leaders" in the football program and athletic department" complied with the RVSM (relationship violence and sexual misconduct) policy by promptly and accurately reporting the information they learned about the underlying incidents to departments within the University that are tasked with investigating and responding to such incidents". "So that takes all those issues off the board with respect to coach Dantonio and the team that is now there".
The Title IX investigation has also been completed and is now moving through MSU's student conduct system. According to a statement, the prosecutor has declined to issue charges against that individual. "It is our practice not to release names of suspects in denied cases".
Following a regularly scheduled work session that included briefings from both Dantonio and Hollis, Board chairman Brian Breslin read a prepared statement.
The results of an independent investigation by the university were also released by the MSU Board of Trustees on Monday.
"Coach Dantonio and his team, particularly coach Dantonio, handled this in the utmost matter with integrity and with swiftness", Simon said.
The school announced the players had been suspended from the university in February. That warrant was not for a football player.
