Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav was on Saturday, July 15, snubbed even in his absence at a youth event attended by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

RJD Chief Lalu Prasad's son Tejaswi said false charges have been framed by CBI and he will give a befitting reply. It is alleged that Tejashwi was granted the ownership of three acres of land at a prime location in Patna in 2004 from a private party, who were given the licence to run two IRCTC hotels in Ranchi and Puri by his father Lalu Yadav, the then Railway Minister.

As the national leader of the third party in Bihar's "mahagathbandhan", Ms. Gandhi has spoken to Chief Minister and JD (U) chief Nitish Kumar to try and resolve the crisis and save the State government.

Lalu Prasad Yadav, who has advocated a similar alliance in Uttar Pradesh between Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samajwadi Party, has made it amply clear to his loyalists that they can't afford a fracture in the alliance. He does not want his deputy Tejashwi Yadav to continue in office without clearing his name in the corruption case or clarifying the matter publicly.

If Congress' mediation succeeds, we may expect this outcome.

JD (U) is adamant on Tejashwi's ouster from state cabinet. "RJD has no other way as BJP has conspired to target our leader Tejashwi".

Senior party leader Jagdanand Singh informed reporters that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had called up RJD president Lalu Prasad last night but refused to divulge what transpiredin the telephonic talks between them. RJD allegedly said that these cases are a conspiracy by BJP in order to break the great alliance and Nitish Yadav knew about it. Since, Lalu's sons were newbie in politics, both Congress and Lalu had no better leader than Nitish Kumar to present before the voters of Bihar. "Nitish will take an appropriate decision (on Tejashwi) at the right time", Singh said, adding JD (U) had not sought Tejashwi's resignation.Jha, Nitish's close political aide, stressed that the CM was at the forefront to demand tough action against those holding benami properties.

BJP sought to steer clear of the acrimony between the two ruling allies saying it is not going to extend inside or outside support if JD (U) severs ties with RJD.
