Broncos linebacker Ray could miss start of season

Linebacker Shane Ray will undergo surgery Saturday to fix a torn ligament in his left wrist a day after running back Devontae Booker underwent surgery to fix a hairline fracture in his left wrist that was misdiagnosed for a month as a sprain.

Denver is two years removed from a Super Bowl title, and from 2011 through 2015, the Broncos played in two Super Bowls. If Ray is out the full eight weeks, he would not be able to play until September 24 when Denver plays the Buffalo Bills.

Krieger-Coble spent his first National Football League season with the Broncos after joining the team in 2016 as a college free agent.

They will play their first preseason game on Thursday, Aug. 10, when they head on the road to take on the Bears.

"And we don't want to burn Von out", Joseph said. An exam revealed the torn ligament and Ray did not participate in the Broncos' walk-through early Friday evening.?

Mason, 26, spent time with the Broncos in 2015 as a reserve/futures contract player who also ended up making the team's practice squad. One is Shaquil Barrett, and he's set to miss all of training camp if not more due to a hip injury.

The Denver Broncos have signed linebacker Danny Mason, according to agent Corey Williams of OGMC LLC.

"We should get a nice Christmas bonus in the first two weeks of the season, a nice boost, " Joseph said. We had X-rays and he needs surgery.

Joseph said he would meet with president of football operations/manager John Elway to see if adding another pass rusher is an option.
