I'm already interested in Abigail given his massive size, and I'm definitely curious how to manage his footsie game given how little room he has to move around.
Abigail originates from the classic 1989 beat 'em up Final Fight, in which he plays the role of the final boss of the second-to-last stage. However, those who have seen Abigail before will see how drastically he has changed from Final Fight. The game's producer, Yoshinori Ono, took the stage to announce the news about Abigail joining Street Fighter 5 via new gameplay footage. Abigail and Metro City will launch alongside the Champion's Choice outfit for Guile, the Ring of Pride and the Suzaku Castle stages, as well as nostalgia costumes for Alex, Juri and Ibuki. In addition to several command throws, Abigail has an armored running attack that helps him cover distance easily. He has two, as it happens, but what makes him stand out is his Nitro Charge run. Several of his other attacks also make use of armor, including a flip-kick attack that covers nearly half of the screen. You can also see one of the scenes from his story mode, as well as his Story and Battle costumes. You can check out the trailer for the new fighter below.
Abigail thrusts his sizeable belly forwards (either high or low) countering the opponent's attack and setting himself up for a combo opportunity.
To learn about Abigail's V-Moves and Critical Art, be sure to hit the jump. A full charge will break the opponent's guard.
