Once downloaded, you will be able to see three catogories namely ' TAX rates: Goods", "TAX rates: Services' and Information @CBEC.

GST Rate Finder app of CBEC is available on google play store. ioS version will be launched shortly.

A tax payer can search for applicable CGST, SGST, UTGST rate and Compensation Cess on a supply. The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has also provided a GST rate finder on its portal to help the taxpayers know the applicable GST rate on their supplies of goods and services. (Read here about the app) GST is India's most ambitious tax reform since independence and subsumes over a dozen central and state taxes that were levied on goods and services earlier.

The government says that the GST would benefit all the stakeholders namely industry, government and consumer as it will lower the cost of goods and services give a boost to the economy and make the products and services globally competitive, giving a major boost to "Make in India" initiative.

A day after Vice-Chancellors (V-Cs) of all Uttar Pradesh universities approved to introduce a subject on Goods and Services Tax (GST) in commerce as well as management courses, Lucknow University on Saturday introduced a six-month certificate course on the subject.
