Jaguar E-Pace unveiled

At its United Kingdom premiere, stunt driver Terry Grant did a 50-foot barrel roll in a production-spec E-Pace, setting a Guinness World Record in the process. It is the smallest SUV produced by the British automaker and is the third product in the company's SUV range, after the F-Pace and the I-Pace concept. The SUV comes with a sports DNA, thereby appealing to the driving enthusiast as much as to the SUV lover.

Opening the diesel ledger is the front-wheel drive only D150 (110kW/380Nm), with a D180 mid-ranger (132kW/430Nm) and a D240 (177kW/500Nm) black-pump flagship.

Here's the video of the Guinness award-winning stunt driver turning the E-Pace into a high-risk amusement park ride.

The F-Type-theme continues on the inside, says Autocar.

The new Jaguar E-PACE is a five-seat, compact SUV that "packs the design and performance of a Jaguar sports auto into a spacious, practical and connected all-wheel-drive vehicle". The Porsche Macan will likely be the E-Pace's biggest competitor, Jaguar officials say.

The new Jaguar E-Pace makes its world debut on Thursday at ExCeL in London.

The striking design is somewhat reminiscent of the larger F-Pace but has its own distinct identity.

"We can expect to benefit from the same 10" infotainment touchscreen in Australia, while a 12.3" interactive driver display is expected to be an option here, as it is in the U.S. The unit now gets the Jaguar's InControl Pro suite of apps, while the company does say Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be offered in the future.

Jaguar has the luxury of eschewing the boxy look seeing as it has sister company Land Rover to cover-off the more conventionally off-road end of the design spectrum.

With practicality for modern life in mind, there are four USB ports, a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot for up to eight devices and storage specifically created to hold phones or music players. The E-Pace 4,395mm long with a wheelbase of 2,681mm. The latter of those engines will be paired to the range-topping model which can accomplish the 0-100km/h sprint in 6.4 seconds.

Jaguar says its United Kingdom factories are close to capacity so it has struck up a partnership with engineering and manufacturing specialist Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria to build the E-Pace. "After driving the Jaguar F-Pace in the record-breaking loop-the-loop, it has been awesome to help launch the next chapter of the Pace family in an even more dramatic dynamic feat". There will also be an R Dynamic version of each, meaning sportier exterior additions such as the more aggressive front bumper with mesh-grille openings, and 21-inch alloy wheels are available.

The Jaguar E-Pace is actually already up for order at Jaguar's United Kingdom dealers, with prices which start at £28,500.
