In what is maybe *the best casting news that has ever happened, a href="" target="_blank" rel="noopener" *in their live-action Lion King remake. Still reaping the benefits of The Jungle Book's success, Jon Favreau wants to assemble as much talent as he can to tackle what could be one of Disney's most ambitious live-action projects yet.

Obviously, we mostly know him for his sass as the Alfred to Mufasa and Simba's Batman.

What songs will be in it?

The stand-up comic and political commentator, who is best known in the USA for hosting satirical late-night talk show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, will be joining the cast of director Jon Favreau's big-screen effort along with the likes of James Earl Jones and Donald Glover.

John Oliver will lend his voice to the well-known character in the remake of the movie. "Mr Bean" star Rowan Atkinson voiced the uptight hornbill in the original 1996 animated film.

It has also been rumoured that Beyonce is the preferred choice to play Nala in the movie.

A Disney spokesperson said: "All other cast reports [other than Simba and Mufasa] are just reports at this stage".

When is the film coming out?

Still a little while to go before "The Lion King" hits cinemas, with its release date set at July 19, 2019.

Disney's "The Lion King" is now scheduled to be released in the summer of 2019.
