GETTYArsenal are still working on a deal for Monaco hitman Thomas Lemar

Monaco's vice president, Vadim Vasilyev has spoken about the situation of Fabinho and Lemar, other two players so requested among the big European clubs.

"Fabinho and Lemar are essential players, they will stay with us".

And Spurs should at least show some ambition and rival Arsenal for Lemar, as the Monaco man could be a real difference maker for Pochettino's side.

"I have seen speculation about the case of Lemar, but he stays with us", he said.

Arsene Wenger has already brought in Sead Kolasinac from Schalke on a free transfer and tied up Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon in a deal that could rise to as much as £52million.

"Thomas Lemar to Arsenal: Gunners are keen on £45m but Monaco don't want to sell " Thomas Lemar to Arsenal: Has anything been agreed?

Monaco wanted £80million when Arsenal first made an approach to sign the youngster.

The Sun claim that Monaco have finally "caved in" and have reluctantly granted Lemar his dream move to the Emirates.

Speaking at a media conference, where he also revealed the club are in talks over a new contract for Kylian Mbappe, Vasilyev said: "We have kept all of the key players that we meant to keep". We're discussing a contract renewal with him.

No transfer window would be complete without a story linking Karim Benzema with a move to Arsenal, and the Daily Star has duly served one up, albeit later in the summer than usual.

The French club have struggled to tie down some of their finest talents this summer following their impressive performance last season where they outshone Paris Saint-German by winning the Ligue 1 title. I hope we reach an agreement'.
