J&K Amid Burhan Wani's death anniversary Pakistan violates ceasefire 2 civilians killed

The indiscriminate firing and shelling by Pakistan began at around 6:30 AM.

The jawan has been identified as Mohammad Showkat and his wife Saifa Bi.

On the other hand, Dawn news quoting local administration has claimed that three civilians were killed in heavy firing and shelling by Indian troops in different parts of Abbaspur and Hajira sectors of Poonch district since 5:30am in the morning. On June 12, two civilians were martyred and three injured in Indian troops' unprovoked firing with heavy weapons in Jandrot and Hotspring (Tattapani) sectors along the LoC.

The Army said soldiers at the LoC gave a "befitting reply" to Pakistani fire.

They died in Gulpur area, police said.

Pakistan on Saturday accused longtime rival India of killing at least two civilians, including a girl by "unprovoked" firing along the Line of Control - a de facto border that divides the disputed Kashmir valley between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

After the militant attack, army men laid siege around the area and conducted combing and search operation to nab the attackers.

The latest clashes erupted on the death anniversary of militant commander Burhan Wani who was killed in Kashmir a year ago.
