Person servers coming to PUBG in next monthly update

This is how PlayerUnknowns's Battlegrounds next update gets a lot more hardcore

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is getting an FOV slider and dedicated first-person servers

Servers hosting this mode will appropriately be referred to as "hardcore servers" in-game.

Will first-person servers make the game better?

Nobody can doubt the popularity of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, as the PC title's unique Battle Royale structure has captivated millions of gamers all over the world even while in Steam's Early Access program. For now, we'll just have to wait on new details about first-person-only mode.

So that's fair- for now, might as well enjoy it in third person. The ability to swivel the camera 360 degrees around your character in third-person gives players much more awareness of their surroundings, taking some of the risk and intensity out of tactics like camping or situations like room-clearing.

A follow-up tweet reads: "We will bring 1st person only to EU/NA SOLO & DUO games first, and once we have polished the system, we will expand to other regions".

First person in PUBG is a little more daunting than third person as the view point constrains what you can see, naturally. In addition, playing entirely in first-person view is more realistic, which will work very well for a game that pits 100 players against each other until a lone survivor stands victorious.

Let's hope the first person servers have been fairly perfected before going live.

The next update for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is going to be a big one.
