Team USA lost to Canada on Saturday in the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup semifinal.
It marks Canada's first ever world title in any worldwide FIBA event, and earning it required a monumental win over the USA team in the semi-finals of the tournament in Cairo.
Diallo averaged 10.9 points on 46.0 percent shooting in seven Team USA games.
It was the first time Canada had even played for a medal at a U19 competition.
Opening the game's scoring with a Reddish 3, the United States of America was off to the races and never trailed in the contest.
Huerter, a sophomore for the University of Maryland basketball team, scored four points, grabbed five rebounds and had an assist in 18:55 of action.
Behind a defense that wreaked havoc in the second half, and a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double by Austin Wiley (Auburn), the US battled to the win. We came here to not only play for the gold, but win the gold, and to play like we did and have Canada come out and play so well, it was just disappointing that we couldn't get it done. Additionally, the US force Germany into 23 turnovers that led to 20 points.
Following three free throws by Immanuel Quickly (John Carroll School/Bel Air, Md.), the U.S. took a 53-52 lead with 5:32 to play in the third.
The North American outfit then extended their advantage in the second stanza to ensure they reached half-time 51-36 in front.
The United States dominated Germany from the start, leading 25-8 after the first quarter, 49-30 at the half and 68-45 after three. "Nobody should have that many points on us", said Pritchard. He went 3-for-13 from the field, and 12-of-14 from the free throw line against Italy.
