The constant stream of lies coming from Donald Trump's White House and his inner circle has reached a new level of absurdity when even Fox News doesn't know what to say.

It's rare for a Democratic lawmaker to thank a Fox News host, but that's exactly what Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) did after Fox News anchor Shepard Smith ripped the Trump administration's handling of the investigations into Russian election meddling.

"It is still not, we're still not clean on this, Chris", Smith told Wallace. More. Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, the lawyer from Russian Federation, the interpreter, this new guy we found out about today, and a mystery person. "And one day they're going to realize we're not and look around and go, where are we and why are we getting told all these lies?"

The inconsistencies and revisions in Trump Jr's recollection of events outraged Smith, who went on a lengthy rant taking the administration to task for failing to be forthcoming. Jared Kushner and the whole White House gang for repeatedly lying about their contacts with Russian Federation during the 2016 election.

"The deception, Chris, is mind-boggling", the host added, before turning his focus to Trump's dedicated supporters. And there are still people who are out there who believe we're making it up.

The president often retweets clips from Fox News programming, particularly Fox & Friends, and promotes appearances by his family members on the channel.

The host's impassioned line of questioning left commentator Chris Wallace at a loss for words, responding, "I don't know what to say".
