Vladimir Putin : Russian President says country will respond to 'insolence' of US sanctions

Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit neighboring Finland on July 27 on a one-day trip.

When asked about Russian-U.S relations and the probe into possible collusion between President Donald Trump's associates and Russian officials in the 2016 USA election, Putin downplayed the issue.

Speaking to reporters after talks with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto, Putin said Russian Federation had joined China in military exercises before and that they were not aimed at any third party. The new measures، however، come after Russian Federation was accused of interfering in the United States presidential election past year.

"I do not think that this is an investigation, because investigation involves finding out the completeness of all the circumstances with study, with listening to various parties". He called the case all but a "battle between President Trump and his political opponents،" adding that "Russian-US relations are being sacrificed to resolve questions of domestic politics". It also covers the measures needed to maintain the operation efficiency of the Russia Air Force, RT reported.

Nevertheless he did not specify what Russia's response could be, saying simply: "When the response will be and what it will be - that we will see", implying this depended on what action the USA finally takes.

Moscow couldn't easily respond economically to the sanctions because of the relatively low volume of trade between the two countries, but Russia's pro-Kremlin press has speculated USA diplomats might be expelled. "This is neither a simple nor a painless matter for Europe", Niinist· said.

Niinisto warned that any new sanctions would affect soon other countries and therefore there are talks within the European Union.
