A newly-married bride was arrested after she allegedly fired a gunshot in the air and even pointed the gun at her groom

Nothing says "till death do us part" like your wife taking a gun from her wedding dress and pulling the trigger hours after you two say I do.

The Police also said the bride then loaded a round into the chamber and fired a shot in the air, causing bystanders to run away.

Police said shortly after Kate Prichard and James Burton exchanged vows, they got into a heated argument which escalated to Prichard reaching under her wedding dress and brandishing a 9mm pistol.

According to police, the new bride was celebrating her marriage at a Clarion Inn motel when she had an argument with her husband. It was a witness that actually pointed us in the right direction.

Witnesses disputed the couple's version of events and claimed they had been drinking and arguing outside the motel.

"After the incident, she went to the bathroom and disposed of the weapon hiding it in the bathroom", said Evans.

According to the authorities, she pointed her gun at the groom.

While at first the couple denied having being involved in the almost fatal event, police recovered shell casings and further evidence, which led to Prichard's arrest.

Prichard is charged with aggravated domestic assault.

Eventually she was released with a $ 15,000 guarantee.

However, the gun was not loaded when it was aimed at her husband.
