Wopat, who starred as Luke Duke in the hit '80s series "The Dukes of Hazzard", was taken into custody Wednesday night by Waltham Police on charges of alleged indecent assault, battery and possible drug possession.
As well as playing Luke Duke, he has played roles in several recent films.
TMZ reports the indecent assault charge stems from a woman connected to the show's production, where Wopat allegedly put his hands down her trousers.
The indecent assault and battery is a felony.
A statement from the Waltham, Mass., Police Department said Wopat, 65, was arrested in his vehicle on a warrant late Wednesday. He refused to comment outside court before driving away.
Wopat was in Waltham, Massachusetts at the time, as he's starring in a play called 42nd Street.
Police later arrested Wopat, 65, pulling him over in his Ford Bronco after actively searching for his whereabouts. Officers said they also found a small amount of cocaine in his possession.
The Tony nominee told police he liked to flirt with women but never did anything inappropriate. But the theater announced today that a different actor would play the role.
He's appeared in movies like the Oscar-winning "Django Unchained" and "County Line".
