Ryan Tannehill leaves practice with left knee injury

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill leaves practice early Thursday with left knee injury, according to Miami Herald.

On Thursday morning, Tannehill rolled out of the pocket and ran towards the sideline, but took an awkward fall after planting his left foot.

When Tannehill missed the final three games of the regular season and the franchise's first playoff game in eight seasons, it was backup quarterback Matt Moore who stepped into the starting role. It's hard to say at this point because we don't know how soon Tannehill will be back on the field.

Given the breaking news about Ryan Tannehill, various sports fans on Twitter recommend that the Dolphins should take a look at Colin Kaepernick, who still doesn't have a gig, or Jay Cutler, who is now pursuing a career in broadcasting, for their signal caller.

The Miami Dolphins do not want this to happen. Tannehill suffered a sprained ACL and MCL in the same knee last season and didn't require surgery. The likely starter if Tannehill can't go right now is Matt Moore, and the Dolphins definitely can't hope to excel as much as they did past year with Moore at the helm. They drew Steelers in the Wild Card round, an unenviable draw, and their season ended after a 30-12 loss.
