Akshay Kumar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, co-starring Bhumi Pednekar has won a lot of appreciation from their colleagues in Bollywood.

As Per Reports Toilet - Ek Prem Katha, which was released in around 3,000 screens in the domestic market, has witnessed a decent amount of footfalls in theatres in the first show. 93 crores approximately, while this year's Akshay Kumar release Jolly LLB 2 grossed approximately Rs 12.07 crore. The film released on Friday and received rave reviews from a number of Bollywood celebrities.

Toilet-Ek Prem Katha has collected Rs 13.10 crore at the Indian box office on its opening day. Even today, women or people in general are forced to defecate in open, because of lack of toilets. The opening figures are less than Badrinath Ki Dukhaniya, Tubelight, and Jab Harry Met Sejal. Akshay and Bhumi's performance is fantastic but the movie is too long and preachy. Though it faced box office clash with latest Hollywood cinemas in the worldwide market, the film got a huge response from the spectators. Released across 3200 screens all over the India, the numbers are expected to rise with the extended Independence Day weekend coming up.

As we told you earlier, unlike Khans, moreover over the first-day business, Akshay's films look at overall collections.

Directed by Shri Narayan Singh, "Toilet - Ek Prem Katha" inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" aims at highlighting the importance of sanitation facility in the households of rural India. It features the story of Keshav (Akshay Kumar) and his wife Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar), set in two villages near Mathura.
