If the iTunes app is open, your Mac will tell you that the installation can not proceed until you close iTunes.

On your Mac, launch the App Store app in your Applications folder.

The Apple Pay service is also getting an upgrade, allowing users to make peer-to-peer (P2P) payments through a new iMessage app, with authentication carried out using Touch ID biometrics.

iTunes 12.7 now includes music, movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, and Audiobooks only.

The change is now effecting only a small amount of users who manage their apps, however it may also come as a welcome change for users who have been frustrated with iTunes tendency to download iOS apps in the background.

Not only did Apple announce three new iPhones and a 4K-capable Apple TV, but it also released a software update for iTunes.

If nothing will change in the manner of installing the new mobile OS, iPhone and iPad users can check their Settings app, proceed to the General menu, and then look for a notification on the Software Update tab.

When you're ready, click the Update button next to the section about the iTunes 12.7 update. Following this, head to the update menu and you can see every detail there, as Apple has described how to install the iOS 11 beta here.

Apple has also made some changes on where other content in iTunes 12.7 are found.

Apple has revealed that iOS 11 will be formally unleashed next week on Tuesday, 19 September.

Chief among iOS 11's features is a much-needed update to Siri.

Also, redownloading ringtones can now be handled on-device, with iOS 11. By eliminating the ability to buy apps, iTunes has now reverted to being exclusively a media player.
