The Chinese phone maker hasn't announced anything yet, but it's already being speculated to be the Xiaomi Mi 7, which is expected to be Xiaomi's next flagship smartphone.

Pricing of the Mi7 is yet to be detailed but we know one thing; wireless charging is definitely a possibility on the upcoming flagship. In case you forgot, or never got the memo in the first place, IKEA has been selling a wide range of its consistently affordable furniture with built-in wireless charging for a good couple of years now.

Xiaomi joined on Wireless Power Consortium website: Now, Chinese smartphone manufacturer company Xiaomi Company has spotted on the Wireless Power Consortium. Now seems like Xiaomi has joined the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) making it possible for the next flagship smartphone from the company to support Qi standard wireless charging. It might have been nice to have wireless charging available for the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, adding to the premium nature of the edge-to-edge screened handset. Nearly all major global smartphone makers including Nokia, Google, Samsung, LG and Apple are part of this consortium.

The increase has come a year after Apple removed the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and introduced "Airpods" their own bluetooth headphones. Earlier this year Apple joined the consortium, as they meant to launch their gen-next iPhones with wireless charging. A Samsung manufactures it and comes with the yet announces the Snapdragon 845. All the three iPhones have a glass back to enable the wireless charging capability. The iPhone 8 features a new glass and aluminum design, wireless charging, improved camera technology and faster processor.
