The remarks by Defense Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan came days after U.S. President Donald Trump singled out Pakistan for harboring terrorist organizations, including the Taliban and Haqqani network, which destabilize Afghanistan and plot attacks on American troops there.
The Xiamen declaration condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, saying there can be no justification whatsoever for any act of terrorism. It is one reason why China is consistently blocking any United Nations resolution against JeM chief Azhar Masood. China has invested about $46 billion worth of infrastructure development projects in Pakistan as a part of its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
