Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro vs Macbook Pro: Pricing and Specs Comparison

Xiaomi released the Notebook Air past year and as the name suggests, it targeted the Apple MacBook Air. Xiaomi says that you can use two 4K monitors at the same time with the Mi Notebook Pro.

The Mi Notebook Pro has a full-size backlit keyboard which is 19% larger than the MacBook Pro.

- The Mi Notebook Pro has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the touchpad, which is a unique feature because this is not something you will find in other laptops. After several anticipations and leaks, Xiaomi's two smartphones were expected to unveil today at the launch event.

Other than the screen, the hardware inside the Mi Notebook Pro seems very impressive. Xiaomi compared this with the MacBook Pro which is only 15 inches in size.

Xiaomi is taking aim at one of the most popular notebooks families on the market with its newest offering, the Mi Notebook Pro.

The Mi Notebook Pro is constructed out of magnesium alloy, and features a 15.6-inch 1080p display with narrow bezels and a Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

The Mi Notebook Pro will be offered in several variants, with the most high-end one being powered by the eighth generation of the Intel Core i7 processor built on the Kaby Lake architecture.

- 2-antenna AC Wi-Fi, so the Wi-Fi performance should be good. On-board, are also a pair of capable Harman Infinity speakers, an aluminium chassis. You'll find two USB-C ports, two USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, HDMI port and a headphone jack. The 8GB model will be available at 6,399 Yuan (Rs 62,733 roughly) and the 16GB model will be available at 6,999 Yuan (68,615 roughly).

The top end variant of the laptop with Core i7 + 16GB RAM will sell for 6999 Yuan ($1076). For more advanced users, the Mi Notebook Pro also offers the Nvidia GeForce MX150 dedicated graphics card, a Pascal-based GPU with a base core speed of 1,468MHz and 2GB of GDDR5 video memory operating at approximately 6,008MHz. As far as availability goes, details are scant, but it will be available in China soon.
