3 takeaways from loss to SC in Week 6

The Gamecock "D" - which has struggled pretty much from the day Jadeveon Clowney turned professional four years ago - turned in a dominating performance against the overmatched Razorbacks (2-3, 0-2 SEC), scoring touchdowns on back-to-back possessions in the third quarter and adding another score in the fourth quarter. Arkansas, which has lost its past five games against Power 5 opponents, is 0-16 when trailing at halftime under Bielema.

Arkansas rushed for 106 yards to South Carolina's 159.

"I'm still friends with all the people here at South Carolina", Williams said.

Kelley led the Razorbacks to two fourth-quarter touchdowns, completing 8 of 13 passes for 140 yards. Arkansas has a 30-40 record against the SEC East.

But the game was tied, 10-10, with 1:58 left in the first half when SC took over at its own 30.

1 Team in the nation has not made a field goal this season - Arkansas. "It's the first game my family came to and for us to lose like that is really embarrassing".

Those numbers came after Arkansas shuffled its offensive line for the SC game, 247 Sports reported.

Early in the second quarter, Williams appeared to score, catching and running for a 23-yard score.

The Razorbacks' concerns over tight end Hayden Hurst proved legitimate as the 6-5 junior got free down the middle and caught a 62-yard touchdown pass from Bentley to put SC on top 10-3 on the second play of the second quarter. After a review, however, it was determined he had stepped out of bounds at the 7-yard line.

"They came out here and just outworked us", Arkansas safety Santos Ramirez said.

After Kelley replaced Allen in the fourth quarter, the Razorbacks went 75 yards in 10 plays for a touchdown, capped by former SC running back David Williams rushing for a 4-yard touchdown with 8:36 remaining to cut the lead to 41-16.

"I understand how rowdy and passionate they are about football there", Scott said. "It just seemed everything disintegrated right in front of us".

Needless to say, Carolina fans are rooting for Moore to put his name in the record books as one of the best ball hawks this program has ever seen. "I'm sure it'll be a full house and a boisterous crowd and we're trying to prepare as such".

"I don't know what wacky you're talking about", Muschamp said.

"We wanted to get the first down before we went fast", head coach Will Muschamp explained.

Walker said he remembers the energy of Williams-Brice from a game there in 2003, when he was a defensive assistant at LSU.

Linebacker Skai Moore tracked an Allen rollout to the sideline, picked him off at the Arkansas 34 and returned it for a touchdown.

However, Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema is not looking so good with the Hogs right now.

It's a rare position of depth for SC and it shows.
