Motorola is giving Alexa a new home in its Moto Z phones via a new Moto Mod. The virtual assistant can also set your smart appliances (lights, thermostat, entertainment systems), arrange for a ride via Lyft, and much more. Also, this Moto Mod is not an affordable solution as the Amazon Echo Dot speaker is priced only at $50, which is a third of the price of the Moto Mod Smart Speaker. Rs. 9,700). It can be snapped onto the Moto Z smartphone to get its dedicated speaker.
Back in February, Motorola announced a Moto Mod that brings Alexa to the Moto Z phones, and to point out the obvious, it's the Moto Smart Speaker. The dock is also designed in such a way that it can be used on the user's nightstand.
The Moto Smart Speaker has a 1,530mAh battery and is capable of outputting 8W of sound. One of the defining features of this smartphone is that it houses both Google Assistant as well as Amazon Alexa as voice-spaced virtual assistants in the device. Plus, up to 15 hours of built-in battery life means you don't have to worry about draining your phone's battery to power the smart speaker.
This new Moto Smart Speaker with Amazon Alexa arrives in November for $149.99 at places like Amazon, Best Buy, Verizon, and Motorola's online shop. If they're really intent on having Alexa wherever they go, then this seems like a no-brainer.
The Moto X4, which is Motorola's latest mid-range offering, is now available for pre-order. As the Echo devices were finally launched by the online retail giant Amazon earlier this month, we can also expect that this feature would be made available in India as well.
