Ghana coach Paa Kwesi Fabin wasn't happy with the performance of his charges despite a hard fought 1-0 victory over Columbia at the 2017 Federation Internationale de Football Association U-17 World Cup in India on Thursday.
The India 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup kicks off at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, on Friday with Colombia taking on Ghana in the opener. It was end-to-end stuff with Colombia slightly dominating initially before Ghana stamped their authority as the match went on.
Injury problems permitting, the Ghana versus U.S. tie will be a showdown between two of the most prolific strikers at the tournament; Eric Ayiah and the USA's captain and star striker Josh Sargent.
On being questioned about the African teams in particular who are very strong in physique, Restrepo said, "Yes, we have an experience of that". The Black Starlets were the undoubted dominant force, reaching the final at four of the decade's five Federation Internationale de Football Association U-17 World Cups, including lifting the trophy in 1991 (Italy) and 1995 (Ecuador).
"StarTimes acquired the broadcast rights of these sporting events, including the FIFA World Cup in over 48 territories in Africa, and other league games such as the Serie A, Bundesliga, French Ligue 1, Chinese Super League and Eredivisie to ensure that our subscribers across the globe are satisfied", Elegbede said.
Ghana tried to find the equaliser, but USA's dogged defence could not be breached as they become the first team to make it to the knock-out stage.
"Team Colombia is looking forward (to qualifying) for Russian Federation, but this is a World Cup for me as well. But we must do better in terms of finishing the chances we create", he pointed out.
"I'm a bit disappointed in the play because that's not how we play", Fabin said. There's a lot of sunshine in Ghana, and there's a lot of sunshine here.
