Stephen Paddock, who killed himself moments before police stormed the hotel suite he had transformed into a sniper's nest on Sunday night, left no clear clues about why he staged his attack on an outdoor concert below the high-rise building.

"Since he has utilised firearms in previous crimes, has employed violence in attempting to evade arrest and has been diagnosed as being psychopathic, Paddock should be considered extremely unsafe", Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Palmer Baken Jr said at the time. Some of his guns had scopes and he had knocked out two windows to create sniper's perches he used to rain bullets on the crowd of 22,000. Patrick robbed a Valley National Bank of Arizona near 19th Street and McDowell Road in 1960 and fled to Las Vegas.

The other sister said Danley, who arrived back in the United States from the Philippines on Tuesday, "didn't even know that she was going to the Philippines, until Steve said, 'Marilou, I found you a cheap ticket to the Philippines'". He would venture out of his Mesquite home frequently to play poker at the local casinos, where regulars recalled his face but little more.

It has now emerged his father was notorious crook Benjamin Paddock who spent eight years as one of the US's most wanted men.

The assailant's brother, Eric Paddock, said he was a "top player" and described gambling as "like a job for him". He last communicated with him over text, asking if their 90-year-old mother was okay after she lost power during Hurricane Irma.

The FBI said it had found "no connection with an global terrorist group" after Islamic State rushed to claim responsibility for the massacre. However, the group provided no evidence.

Las Vegas Sheriff Joe Lombardo said Tuesday his investigators were hoping to speak with the 62-year-old woman.

U.S. officials discounted Islamic State's claim of responsibility and believe Paddock acted alone. He resides here locally. "I know she has to be devastated by what has happened".

He arrived at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino four days before the attack with at least 10 suitcases filled with guns, according to police.

"I can't get into the mind of a psychopath at this point", Lombardo said.

"Marilou Danley is no longer being sought out as a person of interest", the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said.

Mesquite, Nevada police spokesman Quinn Averett said in a press conference that "some weapons" and "maybe some ammunition" were found in Paddock's home, where officers executed a search warrant.

"We are coordinating with Las Vegas police authorities and with leaders of the Filipino community to check on our kababayans (countrymen) there", Consul General Adelio Angelito Cruz said.
