The New York Daily News reports that the pop star was left floating above the audience at a show in Nashville during a leg of her "Witness" tour when the platform she was performing on malfunctioned.

After the 32-year-old finished singing "Thinking of You" while suspended on a set piece in the shape of Saturn, the prop wouldn't budge.

She told fans that she could hear her production team in her ear making a "whole big deal" of the technical difficulty and teased the amused fans at Bridgestone Arena.

As Perry hung in the air, she kept things light and had fun with the crowd. "We got to get a little better about, you know, feuding".

When the planet rig eventually began it's slow descent, the Roulette singer realized she'd have to stagedive to get off of it otherwise it would crush the Tennessee crowd. Katy then jokingly sang the title of the Ethel Merman song, There's No Business Like Show Business.

Katy Perry performs some of her greatest hits and new music onstage at Madison Square Garden on October 2, 2017 in New York City.

"I guess I'm just going to have to get down and walk amongst my people", she said.

"I'm really stuck", she told the crowd.

(Radio.com) Katy Perry found herself lost in space at a gig in Nashville this week (Oct. 18).

Just last week, Perry helped a gay couple get engaged on stage at the Barclay's Center on National Coming Out Day.
