Los Angeles Police Department investigating Harvey Weinstein for alleged 2013 sexual assault

Meanwhile, Los Angeles police say they are investigating a possible sexual assault case against Weinstein, the first involving the producer in the city.

After all these accusations, the police said that the "investigation is ongoing" - according to the LAPD's Twitter account.

Weinstein, through a spokesperson, has "unequivocally" denied "allegations of non-consensual sex although obviously can't respond to anonymous allegations".

The incident is alleged to have taken place in 2013 which would place it within California's 10-year statute of limitations for such a crime. Now, the Los Angeles Police Department and London Police opened an investigation into the man currently accused of sexually harassing multiple women, a lot of them actresses.

The producer's latest accuser told the L.A. Times that the alleged assault occurred after she attended the 8th Annual Los Angeles, Italia Film, Fashion and Art Fest in February 2013.

One of the most recent complaints comes from Russian television personality Katya Mtsitouridze, who told trade magazine The Hollywood Reporter that Weinstein invited her to his hotel room, where he greeted her in a bath robe and asked her for a massage.

She shelved it as "an awkward moment" and remained in touch with Weinstein to keep the door open for professional opportunities. In an attempt to gain control of the situation, she says she offered to give him a massage instead - a recurring practice during body work sessions at drama school, which is how Nyong'o now says she rationalized keeping "a semblance of professionalism in spite of the freakish circumstance". I was stunned. I told him I preferred to eat in the restaurant. Times. "Once inside, he asked me questions about myself but soon became very aggressive and demanding and kept asking to see me naked". I did not want another back-and-forth in front of his kids, so I complied and left the room with him. He was not. For the first time since I met him, I felt unsafe. She says he eventually gave up and called Nyong'o "stubborn". "But I also did not know that there was a world in which anybody would care about my experience with him".

"I knew enough to do more than I did". It sickens me still. "It felt like both a threat and a reassurance at the same time; of what, I couldn't be sure".

Police confirmed Thursday they are looking into the woman's allegations, and her attorney gave additional details about them at a news conference outside a downtown Los Angeles courthouse on Friday afternoon.

She told the paper she finally came forward at the urging of her children, who told her, "You just need to be strong, Mom". "I reasoned that it had been inappropriate and uncalled-for, but not overtly sexual", she said. "He said he couldn't believe how fast I had gotten to where I was, and that he had treated me so badly in the past". Times, which also reported that she is well-known in Italy, where she appeared on the cover of Italian Vogue and acted in Italian films.

To date, two women in the United Kingdom have accused Weinstein of rape: Actress Lysette Anthony told the police Weinstein raped her in her London home in the 1980s.

In a New York Times op-ed, Nyong'o revealed her own experiences with the producer.
