Here's a story from the Associated Press after Philadelphia hosted the 2017 draft. This is Dallas' first time hosting the draft.
Tuesday morning, during the NFL owners' regularly scheduled meetings in NY, several NFL owners met with representatives from the NFL Players Association and the league to discuss the ongoing issues surrounding player protests and the national anthem. "We are grateful to the Dallas Cowboys, the cities of Arlington, Dallas, and Frisco, and the Dallas Sports Commission for their leadership in turning this vision into reality", Goodell said in a release.
Last off-season, the NFL held it's first all-outdoor NFL Draft in Philadelphia, marking a milestone in league history. It will be held April 26-28. "The economic impact that the draft generated was similar to other large-scale marquee events we have hosted of that size and scale".
The Draft, also known as the Player Selection Meeting, will be held over three days.
There will be sponsorship. But the entire event will now exclusively take place at AT&T Stadium. Rounds 2 and 3 will air Friday night while the final four rounds will take place on Saturday afternoon.
Round 1 will include incoming prospects walking the red carpet before entering the NFL Draft theater, which will be constructed directly on the field. Interested fans can win seated tickets at no cost. Chicago and Philadelphia did remarkable jobs hosting the weekend event the past two years after the National Football League made a decision to move the draft out of Radio City Music Hall in New York City. From 2006-2014, it was at Radio City Music Hall in NY.
