"Ralphie" May died of cardiac arrest in Las Vegas, PEOPLE confirms.

'Earlier this morning at a private residence in Las Vegas his body was discovered, cause of death is cardiac arrest'.

Since his debut on season one of Last Comic Standing in 2003 and finishing as a runner-up, audiences couldn't get enough of the larger than life comedian. Since then, May has been touring around the country and appeared on several comedic specials on Netflix and Comedy Central.

Ralphie May, a larger-than-life comic known for his Southern charm and style, has died, his manager, Judie Marmel, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

"We are heartbroken to announce the untimely death of our friend, Ralphie May", the comedian's rep said in a statement to ET.

They also claimed the comic was a drug taker who would abuse drugs in front of the couple's two children.

In 2015, May and his wife, comedian Lahna Turner, filed for divorce. "He was a friend to many and a father of 2 attractive children".
