Star Wars teases new trailer for The Last Jedi

The official trailer for the eighth installment of the Star Wars franchise will debut during this week's edition of "Monday Night Football". It's no coincidence that this is happening on ESPN, the sports channel owned by Disney, during one of the biggest sporting events of the week. Warner Bros./DC Comics dropped the epic team-up trailer for their Justice League movie early this morning, but earlier still came Disney/Lucasfilm's announcement regarding Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

As we approach the game's momentous second anniversary, EA has been in touch to let us know about a few updates that are in the works. While the company hasn't confirmed precisely when the tickets will go on sale, it did say that they will be available after the trailer is out at halftime. The game kicks at 8:15 p.m. EDT. Sales will follow the trailer, but no specific time has been announced.

Anyway, the arrival of a new trailer isn't the only good news for Star Wars fans arriving either.

The movie itself will be released later this year.

Every Sunday, from December 17 - January 7, guests who purchase a ticket to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi in IMAX at AMC Theatres will receive an exclusive print from artist Dan Mumford, while supplies last.

The Force Awakens pre-sale netted over $100 million before the movie opened on December 17, 2015.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in United Kingdom cinemas on 14 December 2017. J.J. Abrams, Tom Karnowski and Jason McGatlin are the executive producers.
